According to the Hunt Institute’s Across the Aisle report, 76 percent of voters favored parents being involved in determining their children’s curriculum, underscoring the crucial need for a culturally relevant and accessible curriculum that caters to all learners. Research suggests that the integration of culturally responsive teaching, including cultural knowledge and norms, is associated with a positive increase in reading and math scores among students. When learners connect with their own identities and those of their peers, success becomes more attainable.
