Approximately 14 percent of the United States population, or 26 million residents, live in rural areas. While serving rural students has been a priority for many institutions of higher education (IHEs) for decades, rural students continue to be underrepresented in higher education. In fact, while 41 percent of urban adults have a postsecondary degree, only 28 percent of rural adults hold postsecondary degrees.

Join The Hunt Institute and Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research on August 24, 2023 at 2 PM ET for this important conversation to explore national trends related to rural student engagement, the role of higher education in rural student economic mobility, and considerations for states as they work to define rural to increase postsecondary attainment.
