The Hunt Institute Introduces New Podcast

March 10, 2021

Show Hosted by President & CEO Allows Listeners to Meet the Person Behind the Public Figure

Cary, N.C. – The Hunt Institute is pleased to announce the recent introduction of a new podcast, As Yet Untold, developed to allow listeners to get to know some of the most well known names in politics and education on a deeper level.

The show is hosted by The Hunt Institute’s President & CEO, Dr. Javaid Siddiqi, and the first three episodes are out now, featuring:

  • Governor Jim Hunt, founder of The Hunt Institute, four-term North Carolina governor, and the nation’s first “Education Governor.”
  • State Senator Howard Lee, whose political career began auspiciously in 1969 as the first Black mayor of a predominantly white southern town in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
  • Governor Tom Kean, two-term New Jersey governor, Chair of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (more commonly known as the 9/11 Commission), and namesake alongside Governor Hunt of the Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows program.

“The idea for the podcast came from all of the rich conversations I’ve been fortunate enough to have these last several years in my role leading The Hunt Institute,” said Dr. Siddiqi. “When the only way you have known someone is through their political persona, it can be surprising when you realize these public figures are just like the rest of us – with complex and rich personal experiences. This podcast is meant to provide the space for guests to show their more human side.”

Podcast episodes are currently slated to release the first Tuesday of each month, and upcoming guests include former New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez and former US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
