ges2008The 2008 Governors Education Symposium, Developing a World-Class Education System, was on June 8-10, in Cary, North Carolina. The convening, co-hosted by the James B. Hunt, Jr. Institute for Educational Leadership and Policy and the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices, focused on the successful strategies from around the country and globe that ensure a capable workforce in states. Drawing from research and best practices, the Symposium provided a forum for governors and their advisors to discuss the essential components of an education system that effectively educates all students for success in the 21st century economy.
