Rizzo Appointed to Governor’s New Education Transformation Commission

Hunt Institute Executive Director and CEO Judith A. Rizzo, Ed.D., has been appointed by North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue to serve a two-year term on the Education Transformation Commission. The Commission, created by an Executive Order will provide oversight on the use of Race to the Top funds and coordinate efforts with Governor Perdue’s new initiative Career and College – Ready Set, Go! (CC-RSG).

The CC-RSG Initiative supports Governor Perdue’s goal that every student in North Carolina will have access to a quality education and graduate ready for a career, college or technical training.

The Commission, chaired by Dr. Bill Harrison, chair of the NC State Board of Education, consists of 26 members representing educational organizations and institutions, information technology providers, nonprofits, business entities, and state and local government agencies.
