2011 Governors Education Symposium: Making Education Dollars Work

ges2011The 2011 Governors Education Symposium, Making Education Dollars Work, was on May 1-2, 2011 in Cary, North Carolina. The event was co-hosted by The Hunt Institute and the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices. The Symposium focused on dialogue around maximizing investments in education, which provided 11 governors and state team members from 16 states and territories with cost-effective ideas and strategies to help achieve the best education results within budgetary constraints. Attendees engaged in robust discussions on how to make the most of education dollars in critical areas, including postsecondary completion, standards and assessments, and teacher effectiveness.
